Remember my first blog post?
Well this is my 100th!
What?! I know, I’m excited, too.
You know what else I’m excited about? My travel plans for the month of May! After six weeks spent crisscrossing New England (Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Vermont), I’m heading a bit farther afield by going on a…
Road Trip!
On May 10th, I’m heading down to DC to meet up with two of my best friends from college and begin a week-long road trip to Miami! Places we intend to stop along the way (but which are subject to change and subject to your input, fair reader) include:
- Williamsburg, VA
- Virginia Beach, VA
- The Duke Lemur Sanctuary (!) in Durham, NC
- Charleston, SC
- Savannah, GA
- The Georgia Sea Turtle Center (!) on Jekyll Island, GA
- Miami, FL
Over the course of this trip I will be seeing 2 new-to-me states (South Carolina and Georgia), which, you may remember, was one of the goals on my list of 25 things to do before I turn 25 (#3: Visit at least 5 new US states and 3 new countries).
These are the ladies with whom I’ll be roadtripping, so get used to looking at their mugs.
I’ll have a week off post-road trip, and then, on May 27th, I’ll be heading to…
The Blog House and TBEX Toronto!
TBEX (Travel Blog Exchange) is “the world’s largest gathering of travel bloggers, writers, and new media content creators” and hosts a conference in North America and Europe every year. So, June 1st and 2nd, I’ll be attending my first TBEX and my first travel blogging conference ever in Toronto, Canada. I’m excited to meet other bloggers, learn more about this industry, and hopefully take some positive steps towards becoming a professional travel blogger (yes, that is a real career).
I’m especially excited because I was accepted to Navigate Media Group‘s Blog House, which is an extra 3-day opportunity leading up to TBEX to live with and learn from some top travel bloggers. I actually just found out today that we’ll be staying at De La Salle Victorian Castle in Downtown Toronto, which looks like this:
I can’t wait to meet and ask questions of some of my favorite bloggers, and I’m just thrilled to have been given this chance. I think I’m full of potential, and it’s gratifying to know other people agree.
Any advice for my road trip, networking at TBEX, or enjoying Toronto is much appreciated! Leave a comment, por favor.
