Tea Tuesday

Tea Tuesday: Homemade Biscotti

Tea with Biscotti

This Tuesday, I’m enjoying a cup of herbal tea with 2 pieces of homemade biscotti. I put the biscotti on a plate rather than sitting down with the whole bag so that I wouldn’t eat 8 pieces with my tea like I did last night.

You may remember that I don’t cook much, so while this pistachio and cranberry biscotti (also known as heaven) is homemade, it was not made in my home. It was a belated birthday present from my friend Katie, whom I’ve mentioned before on the blog (here, here, and here). Personally, I can think of no better accompaniment to biscotti than tea; it makes the hard cookie more manageable without altering its flavor too much the way coffee or hot chocolate might.

Because it’s late, I’m drinking herbal tea, and, as you may or may not know, herbal tea is caffeine free. Fun fact: herbal tea contains no actual leaves from the tea plant, and, as such, is technically an infusion.

Tonight’s cup is Twinings (a classic British brand) Camomile, Honey, and Vanilla, which I had never tried before. Celestial Seasonings also makes a Honey, Vanilla, Chamomile blend, but I think I like Twinings’ take on this combination better. It’s sweet, but more subtle than Celestial Seasonings’ version, and has a less artificial aftertaste.

What are you drinking lately? I’m specifically curious about your favorite bagged tea, but if you want to share a preferred juice, alcoholic beverage, percentage of milk, that’s fine too.
